That guy who made pipe-fitted a custom speaker solution for a 3DS has upgraded his sound setup with a stand and more complicated metal speaker things. Click here for source

Laugh all you want at this mod’s silliness, but it sounds way better than the built-in speakers. Yeah, you could just use the headphone port to hook this up to a stereo when you want to jam with Theatrhythm, but isn't this something!

this is all i could find catty....

Upgrade your 3DS’s sound with this wacky homemade solution — all you need is some copper tubes, plastic clips, metal funnels, and silicon sheets. It’s much cheaper than buying a speaker accessory, and it doesn’t require an extra power source. Japanese instructions available here.

I like that it has a steampunk art look to it.

I agree. I love it too!! Now if he could just paint up the copper pipes to match the colour to each different console... it might just take off!! Love the little stand he has for the console too. To increase the screen size on the 3DS XL, smaller speakers were used but the sound has not been decreased. Imagine watching a movie on the XL with the cool little invention above?... (mickey Mouse ear size)... awesome. Laugh
